Josie is an Account Coordinator at RunSwitch PR, with a background in political and public affairs communication. She brings a sharp editorial eye, legislative experience and a commitment to clear, accurate storytelling to her work. From collegiate newsroom leadership to statehouse communications intern, Josie thrives on helping audiences understand complex issues and believes thoughtful communication can inform, engage and drive meaningful impact.
Background
Though a recent college graduate, Josie brings a strong foundation in political and strategic communication, shaped by hands-on newsroom and legislative experience. A native of Eastern Kentucky, she earned an Associate of Arts from Kentucky Community & Technical College at just 17 years old. She then graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Communication, completing the program in two years and earning summa cum laude honors.
During her time at the University of Louisville, Josie served as News Editor for The Louisville Cardinal, the university’s student newspaper. In this role, she edited and reported on local issues, mentored reporters and interviewed prominent public figures across the Louisville metropolitan area. She further developed her public-sector communications experience as an intern with the Kentucky State House Minority Leadership Office at the Legislative Research Commission, where she created and managed strategic social media content, produced amendment opportunities and translated legislative activity for the public.
Josie is currently enrolled in the University of Louisville College of Business, where she is pursuing a Master of Business Administration.
