Lee Cotton

Background

Lee joins RunSwitch PR after a decade of experience in and around Washington, D.C., serving in the Department of War, the U.S. House of Representatives, and, most recently, Vantor (formerly Maxar Intelligence), a leading geospatial and satellite company.

For nearly six years, Lee served as an intelligence analyst with the Department of War, working in the Washington, D.C., and Miami, Florida, areas and deploying overseas to Colombia in 2019, Qatar in 2021, and Afghanistan in 2021. In these roles, he synthesized complex national security threats related to counter-narcoterrorism in the Western Hemisphere and counterterrorism in Europe and the Middle East, providing analysis and assessments to senior civilian and military leaders in the field and in Washington and Miami. Lee received multiple awards from the Department for his service to the Nation.

In 2023, Lee continued his career in public service on Capitol Hill, joining the office of Congressman Brad R. Wenstrup, D.P.M. (OH-02), as national security advisor. In that role, he advised the Congressman on national security and advanced his legislative agenda related to Department of War oversight, military service members and their families, and biosecurity threats, including those posed by China and emerging infectious diseases.

Following his time in Congress, Lee joined Vantor, formerly Maxar Intelligence, as Director of Government Relations. He led the company’s government affairs efforts on Capitol Hill, working with the House and Senate Armed Services, Intelligence, and Homeland Security committees. He maintained relationships with Members of Congress and senior staff in both chambers to advance the company’s priorities throughout the annual appropriations and authorization cycles. Lee also organized and executed the company’s political action committee (PAC), supporting targeted engagement with Members of Congress seeking reelection.

Lee is excited to call Louisville home, where he lives with his wife, Katherine, and their golden retriever, Major.
